Poway
Poway is a city in East County, California. Originally an unincorporated community in the county, Poway officially became a city in 1980. Poway’s rural roots gave rise to its slogan “The City in the Country.” The population has grown over the years from a small country town on Old Highway 395 to a thriving community. There are many equestrian properties within Poway with horseback riding at Lake Poway and nearby Iron Mountain Trailhead. Poway is also home to Royal Ridge, Lucidi Farms, and the Poway Equestrian Center. Poway offers a great diversity of housing for everyone. The “City” is composed of many small and large housing developments. The “Country” offers homes on more land, ranches, estates, and a feeling of space.
